Using Deformers to Model

In the Animation menu set, you can use any deformer from the Deform menu to help you model.

1. Lattices are very powerful when you want to reshape an entire area. Using deformers to model is not limited to just NURBS. You can use all deformers on all surface types.

2. Under the Create Nonlinear option, you have deformers called Bend, Flare, Sine, Squash, Twist and Wave. Each one has a particular function that corresponds to its name.

3. You can also use the Wire Tool to influence areas of the surface to change according to the locations of CVs of a curve.

4. Usage: select the surface(s) and go to Deform > deformer type. This function is not limited to just NURBS surfaces. It works with any surface type that has a CV.

5. Delete history after you have modeled you surfaces as you like.
